2008 Mercedes Benz CLK Class Review, Pictures and Video
Nothing is more prestigious than driving around in a Mercedes convertible—this is possible with the sporty CLK-Class of coupe and cabriolet models. Borrowing features from the C-Class and E-Class platforms, the CLK-Class manages to be a unique blend of attributes. The 2008 CLK-Class coupes include the CLK350 and the CLK550. The four-occupant capacity interior features leather upholstery and a 60/40-split folding rear seatback. All models receive dual-stage front airbags and the coupes get side-impact airbags, while the cabriolets get head/thorax airbags. In collisions with enough force, a multi-chamber airbags are deployed from the side window on the side of collision. Other standard safety features include an Integrated Restraint System, an electronic stability system and antilock brakes.
What makes the CLK-Class go? The CLK350 coupe and cabriolet are powered by a 3.5-liter V6 that can produce 268 horsepower. The CLK550 coupe and cabriolet get the 5.5-liter V8 engine. The high-performance CLK63 AMG Cabriolet is outfitted with a 32-valve V8 engine that can generate 475-horsepower; the Black Series coupe’s engine can get up to 500 horsepower and according to Mercedes-Benz, it can go from zero to 60 mph in 4.1 seconds. Each of these models works with a seven-speed automatic transmission that has Touch Shift manual selected gear change.
All of this is provided in the sleek, sporty design of the 2008 CLK-Class. Whether you opt for a coupe or cabriolet, the performance on the road will not disappoint by any means.
