Mercedes offers a four-dour coupe version of its popular E-Class in the form of CLS-Class. The two coupes offered in this class are the CLS550 and the high performance CLS63. Both are decked out in a suit of Mercedes-Benz technology and are better than ever for the 2008 year.

The inside of the CLS-Class is covered with leather upholstery. The car can hold up to four people and with four doors, it makes getting in and out worlds easier than other two-door coupes on the market. The 4-zone climate control system provides this interior the same comfort as the popular S-Class vehicles. To further improve the ride, Mercedes-Benz also added the harman/kardon® LOGIC7® digital surround-sound system to give the occupants something special for their ears. This leaves the driver to perform his driving duties; it’s never been easier. The COMAND (Cockpit Management and Data System) comes with an LCD color screen to display navigation and map readouts, vehicle diagnostics, ride settings and more. Double that with the various instrumentation clusters and the driver of a CLS-Class coupe will never have trouble knowing what is going on inside of their prized possession.

What boosts this stunning coupe? The CLS550 gets a 32-valve V8 engine that can generate 382 horsepower; this engine teams with a seven-speed automatic transmission complete with overdrive and an auto-manual feature. The CLS63 AMG gets a supercharged 32-valve V8 that can get up to 507 horsepower and 465 lb-ft of torque; this one teams with a five-speed automatic transmission complete with the same features as the seven-speed.

Standard on both of these coupes is the Mercedes-Benz Pre-Safe System. This prepares the vehicle when an impending crash is sensed by closing windows, adjusting the seats and tightening the 3-point seat belts. The vehicles also come with a full army of standard airbags that include dual-stage front airbags, rear side-impact airbags and side curtain airbags. The antilock brakes and electronic stability system are the icing on this cake.

With the maneuverability of a small car in the shell of a larger one, the CLS-Class is an outstanding innovation. The powerful V8 engine lets the AMG model go from zero to 60 mph in 4.3 seconds, so acceleration is never a problem here. The handling on these coupes is tighter than ever and combined with the various electronic systems aiding you in driving, the 2008 CLS-Class is necessary commodity for this year.
