2008 Mercedes Benz M Class Review, Pictures & Video

Imagine a mid sized luxury SUV that has the capability to do some moderate off-roading and an exterior chassis that would make anyone envious. What you are picturing is the Mercedes-Benz M-Class SUVs. In 2008, the M-Class gets a powered up engine and a whole assortment of new standard supplies.
The refined interior of the ML320, ML350 and ML550 are covered in first-rate Mercedes-Benz Tex upholstery; the ML63 AMG gets premium AMG leather upholstery. The other inner surfaces are extenuated with beautiful wooden trims on the console and doors, with aluminum trim on the console assist handles. Five people may fit inside of this fancy set-up and the 60/40-split rear seatback can fold flat to provide as much as 64.6 cubic feet of cargo room. The M-Class gets dual zone climate control, electronic cruise control, a DVD-Based Navigation system, an 8-speaker audio system and other life-simplifying knick-knacks. The AMG model gets 3-zone climate control and a harman/kardon® LOGIC7® digital surround-sound system.
Now let’s talk about the M-Class power. The ML320 diesel gets a V6 capable of 215 horsepower and the ML350 gets a 3.5-liter V6 that develops 268 horsepower. The higher up ML550 gets a V8 engine capable of 382 horsepower, and the ML63 AMG gets a higher-powered 6.3-liter V8 that boosts 503 horsepower. The engines all team with a seven-speed automatic transmission that has TouchShift manual controls available. The M-Class’s impressive power can tow up to 5,000 pounds. None of this power comes without the proper precautions either. The dual-stage front airbags and side-impact airbags are intertwined with the M-Class ETD and the force of the airbags (as well as additional airbags through out the car) are controlled by the intensity of the impact. A rollover sensor, an electronic stability system and antilock brakes add to the list of standard features.
The M-Class provides ample space for the occupants while maintaining comfort levels and immense cargo room. Furthermore, the ride quality of these SUVs is above par in comparison to other SUVs on the market. The best word to describe the ride quality would be “smooth” because of the authority the driver receives when in control of the M-Class engine. The handling, agility, and transmission shifts all contribute to this vehicle class’s supremacy on the road. The 2008 M-Class is a tough model to pass up this year.
