Mercedes US Chief Fired Over Expense Abuse
It seems Mercedes-Benz US chief Ernst Lieb has been dipping into company pockets a bit too much. Well, it surely won’t happen again, since he’s been let go. In the worlds of Donald Trump (or Vince McMahon) “YOU’RE FIRED!”
The official cause was over “financial irregularities” while Lieb was in charge of all US-based Mercedes operations.
Reports alleged that Lieb, who was well liked throughout the organization, was “relieved of his duties due to expense abuses.”
Ernst has been accused of using Mercedes-Benz corporate funds to pay one of his household employees, according to The Financial Times. Another report states Lieb lent out Mercedes-Benz cars in exchange for upgrades on airline flights. Lieb has previously been in the barrel for using company funds to pay for his wife’s golf club membership, but has since paid back his former employer.
