The Mercedes-Benz Count Trossi
The Mercedes Benz SSK. For years, it was “One of the most revered sports cars in the world.” The model pictured here “features the most dramatic body of them all. It’s nicknamed after Carlo Trossi, its first owner.” Trossi both purchased and sold his car several times between 1932 and 1949. It eventually landed in the hands of designer Ralph Lauren.
The car was actually designed by Ferdinand Porsche. This series of vehicle began with the Mercedes-Benz 1927 Type 680 S.
Today, only 5 extremely coveted SSK models have survived.
